Detroit Branch NAACP to Pay Tribute to U.S. Auto Industry at 54th Annual Fight for Freedom Fund Dinner

DETROIT, April 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The Detroit Branch NAACP will pay special tribute to the U.S. Auto Industry at its 54th Annual Fight For Freedom Fund Dinner to be held Sunday, May 3, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. at Cobo Conference Center. In one of his first community events since being named President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Henderson will accept the honors on behalf of General Motors Corporation.

In addition to the special tribute to the auto industry there will also be awards given to “Queen of Soul”

Edwin Rowe, Pastor, Central United Methodist Church. The theme for this year’s dinner is “Facing the Rising Sun, Of Our New Day Begun.” The dinner will celebrate the NAACP’s Centennial.
