California Space Authority to Release Study on Space Industry's Impact on California Economy

California Space Industry Ranks #1 in US and #1 in World in Economic Impact, Contributing more than $76B to State Economy and 370,000 Jobs

SANTA MARIA, Calif., April 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following is being released by California Space Authority:

California ranks #1 in economic impact with 40 percent of the U.S. and 21 percent of the world's space enterprise. Total annual contributions to the state exceed $76B, including $31B in revenues, $19.4B in wages, creating and sustaining more than 370,000 jobs.

California's space enterprise has a greater impact on revenue and jobs than any other industry, including entertainment, tourism and agriculture. The study also highlights the new generation of entrepreneurial California space companies, well positioned for a game change in the launch segment.
