SAIC Awarded $104 Million Contract by Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency

Company to Continue Development and Teaching of Emergency Response Training Curriculum at Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston, Ala.

SAN DIEGO and MCLEAN, Va., April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (NYSE: SAI) today announced it has been awarded a prime contract by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide training support to the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP). The single-award contract has a one year base period of performance, four one-year options and a total contract value of more than $104 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed at the CDP in Anniston, Ala.

CDP offers federal all-hazards training that enhances the capabilities of emergency responders, emergency management personnel, and government officials responding to incidents involving weapons of mass destruction and other hazardous materials. It is the only federally chartered weapons of mass destruction training center, catering to emergency responders from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories. Under the contract, SAIC will design and develop emergency responder curriculum, and provide qualified instructors to teach each course. SAIC will also manage training logistics, administrative support, sustainment activities and cost data analysis.
