Security cleared job board executive helps lead transition assistance program assisting military and government personnel seeking civilian employment

FALLS CHURCH, Va., April 16 /PRNewswire/ — ClearedJobs.Net announced today its continuing sponsorship of the AFCEA Northern Virginia chapter’s Successfully Transitioning from Active to Retired (STAR) Program, a program which eases the move to private-sector employment by disseminating valuable information to military and government retirees. ClearedJobs.Net’s Chief Marketing Officer and AFCEA NOVA’s Military Government Transition Committee Chairperson, Kathleen Smith, co-founded the STAR Program along with AFCEA NOVA’s Chair, Strategic Advisory Council’s Col. Kevin Hoey (Ret. USMC) in 2007 to supplement the information provided in government transition assistance programs.

As co-founder, Smith is a strong advocate of the STAR Program. “Transitioning into private-sector employment is a difficult step for many military and government personnel,” says Smith. “We know the value of networking and how it is beneficial to everyone no matter what stage they are in their career.
