EB Brands fitness balls recalled
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of EB Brands fitness balls due to a fall hazard.
EB Brands of Yonkers, N.Y., has received 47 reports of the fitness balls bursting while in use, due to over-inflation, the commission said.
About 3 million of the Bally Total Fitness, Everlast, Valeo and Body Fit Fitness Balls were sold in a variety of colors between May 2000 and February 2009 for between $15 and $30.
The balls were sold with air pumps and inflation instructions and have Bally Total Fitness, Everlast or Valeo logos printed on the surface.
Consumers were advised to contact EB Brands to receive a copy of new instructions on how to safely inflate the ball.
