Trane Leader Shares Best Practices in Sustainability

ATLANTA, April 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Steve Miclette, district leader for the Trane business in Georgia, will share best practices in energy reduction and sustainability at the FMA Congresses' Progressive Energy and Environment Congress.

Miclette will discuss Ingersoll Rand sustainability practices with an emphasis on what the company is doing to reduce its own carbon footprint. This includes energy auditing the company's business and manufacturing facilities. In addition, Miclette will describe how Ingersoll Rand's Trane business is helping its customers, who are building owners, reduce energy consumption.

To illustrate what the company has done, Miclette will discuss the energy management strategy that Ingersoll Rand employed in its Residential Systems facility in Tyler, Texas.

The strategy and its related process improvements is expected to net $1.1 million in recurring annual energy cost avoidance for the next eight years. The energy avoided is the equivalent of planting 237,546 trees, powering 1,285 homes and removing 1,697 cars from the road.

The Progressive Energy and Environment Congress will focus on three main topics: energy reduction, environmental sustainability and green data centers. Industry leaders share strategies and success stories, fostering discussion on new approaches and technologies to reduce energy use and emissions and how they can lead to reduced costs and higher profits.
