Chesapeake Corporation Foundation Announces Scholarship Winners

RICHMOND, Va., April 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Chesapeake Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: CSKEQ) has announced that Gregory Shikhman of Brooklyn, N.Y., is the winner of the Chesapeake Corporation Foundation's 2009 Chesapeake Employees' Children Scholarship for graduating high school seniors. The winner is eligible to receive up to $4,000 annually for as many as four years of undergraduate study at a four-year U.S. college or university.

Gregory is the son of Vladimir Shikhman, an employee of Chesapeake Pharmaceutical Packaging Company, Inc., in Hicksville, N.Y. He is a student at Stuyvesant School in New York, N.Y., and plans to attend Columbia University in New York, N.Y.

The Chesapeake Corporation Foundation Scholarship program is available to children of Chesapeake employees and its wholly owned subsidiaries. Scholarship recipients must make normal academic progress and remain in good academic standing. The Chesapeake Corporation Foundation has awarded scholarships to employees' children for 26 consecutive years. Scholarships that have been awarded will be honored, but no new scholarships will be awarded.

The winners were selected by the Scholarship and Recognition Programs, a program service of The College Board, administered by Educational Testing Service of Princeton, N.J. All phases of the scholarship competition, including the selection of winners, are handled on a competitive basis by the Scholarship and Recognition Programs. All members of the Scholarship Selection Committee are independent and not affiliated with Chesapeake or its Foundation. Operational services are provided by Educational Testing Service.
