State of Technology’s Exhibit Hall to Compliment Luncheon Keynote Address by Microsoft CEO

April 28, 2009

DALLAS, April 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Exhibit booths featuring innovative products and services fill the exhibit hall during the Dallas Regional Chamber’s 9th Annual State of Technology on May 7.

Nearly 50 companies’ cutting-edge technologies will be on display for the May 7 event at the Dallas Convention Center. Top sponsors and exhibitors this year are Microsoft and Sprint.

Attendees will have the opportunity to visit Microsoft’s booth to see what’s new with Windows 7 and experience how Windows Mobile brings together the best of the Web, PC and phone. In addition, guests can check out the latest in surface computing and play the latest Xbox 360(R) game Rock Band.

Sprint’s booth will feature demonstrations showcasing their new products. Sprint experts will be on hand to discuss services related to Nextel’s Direct Connect products, convergence, mobile broadband and the company’s new 4G network.

The newest addition to this year’s exhibit hall is the Green Corner, featuring renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. This corner was formed to feature the sustainable technology companies in the area, as nearly 9,000 green jobs are located in the greater Dallas region, the second largest amount in Texas.

Complimenting the exhibit hall is a luncheon and keynote address featuring Steve Ballmer, Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft Corporation. Ballmer will convey his ideas on the role of innovation in a challenging economy.

“As a preeminent hub for innovation, entrepreneurism and technology, the greater Dallas region and the technology community are eager to hear Steve Ballmer’s expert insights,” said John Dupree, 2009 Chairman of the Chamber’s Technology Business Council, and Vice President, Enterprise & Federal Government, Sprint. “His unique perspective will provide us invaluable tools with which to transform the region into an even stronger business growth engine.”

Ballmer’s presentation is expected to draw a crowd of more than 800 leaders from the region. The State of Technology Luncheon will mark his first time to address a public audience in the North Texas area.

Hosted by the Chamber’s Technology Business Council, the 9th Annual State of Technology Luncheon and Innovation Showcase will be held May 7 at the Dallas Convention Center, Exhibit Hall B, 650 S. Griffin Street, Dallas. The exhibit hall is open from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the luncheon begins at noon.
