Samuel W. Bodman Elected to DuPont Board of Directors

Former U.S. Secretary of Energy Brings Blend of Public and Private Sector Experience

WILMINGTON, Del., April 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — DuPont (NYSE: DD) today announced that Samuel W. Bodman, former U.S. Secretary of Energy and former chairman and CEO of Cabot Corporation, was elected to its board of directors during the company’s annual stockholders meeting.

Bodman, 70, served as U.S. Deputy Secretary of the Treasury and Deputy Secretary of Commerce for the George W. Bush administration prior to his appointment as Secretary of Energy. Previously, Bodman was chairman and CEO of Cabot Corporation — a Boston-based global specialty chemical and materials business, president and chief operating officer of Fidelity Investments, and an associate professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Other affiliations for Bodman include former director of MIT’s School of Engineering Practice and former member of the MIT Commission on Education. Bodman recently was elected to the board of directors of AES Corporation.
