All Proceeds from Sales of One Water Support Clean Water Initiatives in Developing Nations

WASHINGTON, April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Global Ethics - North America is sponsoring the 12th annual Race for Hope DC on May 3rd 2009 by providing an estimated 8,000 race participants with One Water. The 5k race is slated to take place at 9 am on Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C. and will raise money to find a cure for brain tumors and provide support to brain tumor patients and their families.

"We are honored to partner with the Race for Hope DC and lend a hand in finding a cure and improving the quality of life for those affected by brain tumors," said Global Ethics - North America president Ron Sokolov. "While our business is focused on clean drinking water, our mission is tied to better health and this event is a great opportunity to highlight both issues."

"We are delighted to feature One Water at the 12th Annual Race for Hope DC as they really have a great story and message," said Jonathan Weinberg, 2009 Race Co-Chair. "They are standing alongside the brain tumor community and helping ensure our national event is a success."

With support from Guernsey Office Products, Global Ethics will recycle used One Water bottles from the Race as part of their shared commitment to the environment.

Global Ethics donates 100 percent of profits from the sale of consumer products and services to help people in developing nations with basic needs such as clean water, better access to health services, sanitation, and improved nutrition.

Through their signature product, One Water, Global Ethics has donated over $3 million globally to bring clean drinking water to communities in Africa through their partner charity, PlayPumps. Customers of One Water can fund a PlayPump once they buy a sufficient volume of One Water, and they can then brand and integrate the pump into their Corporate Social Responsibility and PR programs.

The PlayPump(R) water systems are children's merry-go-rounds that double as clean water pumps, providing clean water for communities of up to 2,500 people. There are over 1,300 pumps installed to-date and One Water is responsible for funding nearly 280 PlayPumps. In addition to providing access to water and playground equipment, the PlayPump carries essential public service announcements about issues such as hygiene and HIV/AIDS on billboards surrounding the storage tank.

One Water is available in several corporations on the east coast, with a growing presence in the DC-metro and will soon be available in local stores and restaurants. Performance Food Group (PFG) and Guernsey Office Products distribute One Water in the metro area.

"Purchasing One Water is a really simple way in today's tough economic times to continue to pursue important corporate CSR initiatives without breaking the bank," said Global Ethics - North America president Ron Sokolov. "Our customers love the fact that they can support such an important cause in bringing people clean drinking water all in the normal course of doing business."
