Large selection of concrete pump trucks and heavy equipment to be sold in Ritchie Bros. Fort Worth unreserved auction

The three-day public auction includes everything from "big-iron" equipment to "work-ready" concrete pump trucks and concrete pumping equipment

FORT WORTH, TX, May 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers (NYSE and TSX: RBA), the world's largest industrial auctioneer, is conducting a three-day, multi-million dollar truck and equipment auction at the Company's permanent auction site in Fort Worth, Texas from Wednesday, May 6 to Friday, May 8, 2009 starting at 8:00 a.m. each day. More than 2,100 truck and equipment items including 36 concrete pump trucks will be sold during the auction to the highest bidders with no minimum bids or reserve prices. Construction equipment will be sold on Day 1 (May 6th) and Day 2 (May 7th) of the auction. The concrete pump trucks and other concrete pumping equipment, part of a complete dispersal of the previous assets of Pumpco Inc., a concrete pumping service company with operations in the Ft. Worth area, will be sold on Day 3 (May 8th) of the auction.

"The auction is shaping up very nicely and includes a bit of everything for buyers. We'll have a lot of "big iron" pieces used in all sectors of the construction industry in addition to a good selection of trucks and trailers including the 36 concrete pump trucks," said Kieran Holm, Area Manager, Ritchie Bros. Ritchie Bros. will even have Pumpco representatives in the yard a week prior to auction day providing equipment demonstrations so prospective buyers can determine the condition of these pump trucks for themselves."

The majority of the concrete pumps are mounted on a Mack chassis and manufactured by Putzmeister, Schwing and Concord - three of the largest and most recognized concrete pump manufacturers in the world. The many other types of trucks being sold in the auction include 100 truck tractors, 90 pickup trucks, 40 water trucks, 40 flatbed trucks, 30 dump trucks and 25 articulated dump trucks.

The unreserved auction will also feature a very diverse selection of industrial equipment including larger, heavy-duty construction items from more than 300 consignors including Graham Brothers Construction Inc., Hoss Equipment, Austin Bridge & Road, Flint Energy Services Inc., NPL Construction Company, Lone Star Infrastructure JV and United Rentals, Inc. Some of the equipment highlights include more than 60 loader backhoes, 55 hydraulic excavators, 50 crawler tractors, 40 wheel loaders, 30 motor scrapers and 25 motor graders.
