Expert Commentary from Lisa Viscidi, Latin American Team Leader of Energy Intelligence Group

NEW YORK, May 1 /PRNewswire/ — Wall Street Access, a leading research and brokerage firm, today announced that on May 7 it will host a conference call for institutional investors featuring Lisa Viscidi, Latin American Team Leader of Energy Intelligence Group and an expert on the Brazilian oil and gas industry. Viscidi will discuss Brazil’s emerging status as the most important new development area for global oil and gas, with the deposits in the Santos Basin ranking as the most important new oil discoveries made in the Western Hemisphere since Prudhoe Bay in Alaska in 1968.

Viscidi has been immersed in this issue and has recently returned from a week-long research trip to Brazil, as well as the Summit of the Americas conference in Trinidad, where Brazil’s growing prominence and global energy industry was a topic of discussion.

On the call, she will share her insights and latest thinking on subjects including:

  • Key offshore leases on which discoveries have been made
  • Leases on which future drilling will take place
  • U.S. and foreign companies that will be impacted by Brazil’s production including BG, ExxonMobil, Hess, GALP (and ENI through GALP), Petrobras, Shell, and Repsol, as well as oil service companies Cameron and FMC, among others.*

The call, co-hosted by independent energy analyst Bernie Picchi and former U.S. Ambassador John Blaney, will begin with a 20 minute presentation from Viscidi and then will open up to anonymous questions from the audience. Registered participants will receive handouts prior to the call and an executive summary the following day.

“It’s clear that developments in Brazil will shape the future of the oil industry over the next few years, and sophisticated investors must be knowledgeable about this area — the industrial, cultural, and political issues,” said Picchi. “The first-hand perspective that Viscidi provides will be invaluable in making well-informed energy investment decisions.”

The call begins at 11 a.m. EDT on Thursday, May 7, and is open to institutional investors only. Attendance is limited. For access and to receive briefing materials that will be discussed on the call contact Rachel Jablow at 212-232-5634 or rachel.jablow@wsaccess.com.
