Pumpkin Patch raincoats recalled

May 4, 2009

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary Pumpkin Patch hooded raincoats recall due to a strangulation hazard.

About 800 raincoats imported from China by Pumpkin Patch LLC of San Mateo, Calif., were sold nationwide between July 2008 and February 2008 for about $50. The coats include drawstrings that could pose a strangulation risk, the commission said in a statement.

The recall involves trench coat style rain gear in girls sizes 2 through 10. The coat is red with pink polka-dots.

Consumers were advised to remove the drawstring immediately or contact Pumpkin Patch for a full refund.

Consumers can call 866-898-0344 for information.
