EADS North America CEO to Address Detroit Economic Club
An Army combat veteran with more than 20 years of experience on the leading edge of aerospace, Mr. Crosby has spent his professional career advancing the interests of the American defense industry and the U.S. warfighter. Now the head of North American operations for the second largest global aerospace company, he is a uniquely positioned participant and observer of the forces that are dramatically reshaping the U.S. defense industrial base and the allied alliance.
Mr. Crosby will offer his insights on how the aerospace industry is adapting its strategy and tactics to the new global economic battlefield, drawing on lessons learned from the automotive sector. Just as the U.S. military has undergone a major paradigm change to defeat asymmetric threats in irregular warfare, America’s continued economic preeminence in key industries is requiring a rethinking of our terms of victory and methods for achieving them. Mr. Crosby will deal head-on with the trans-national struggle in aerospace between protectionism and globalization, and the changing definition of “made in America.”
These are timely and relevant issues as the U.S. aerospace industry is a vital component in the American economic engine, and particularly as EADS North America and Northrop Grumman vie with Boeing to build the Air Force’s new aerial refueling tanker.
