Raven Industries Engineered Films Announces New Cast Extrusion Line

May 7, 2009

SIOUX FALLS, S.D., May 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Raven Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: RAVN), Engineered Films Division announces their newest addition of cast extrusion, further expanding their wide range of capabilities. The new cast extrusion line will provide a full spectrum of product offerings in the plastic film and sheeting segment. This line is capable of coating a broad range of substrates and can cast smooth or embossed film and sheeting ranging in thickness from 1 mil to 80 mils. Raven Engineered Films is a leading manufacturer in the plastic film and sheeting industry producing precise ultra-thin 0.25 mil films up to full wide-width reinforced and non-reinforced sheeting of 45 mils thick. The introduction of cast extrusion will allow Raven to produce up to 110″ wide multi-layer film and sheeting with or without reinforcement grids and substrates up to 80 mils in thickness. This addition further complements their 7-layer blown film and wide-width lamination capabilities already in place at their manufacturing plant in Sioux Falls, SD.

Raven will now offer precise co-extruded cast film and sheeting produced in large mill roll capacity or further run through their ISO 9001:2000 certified factory conversion processes to be heat seamed into large custom panels eliminating the need for field seaming. Raven offers multi-layer barrier capabilities along with 2-color custom print to bring full-circle manufacturing capabilities to their customers.

“Raven is very excited to bring our customers the versatility this cast line has to offer in addition to our existing capabilities by taking our product offerings to the next level,” said Jim Groninger, Vice President & General Manager for Raven Industries’ Engineered Films Division. “Basically, customers can bring their film and sheet requirements to Raven, and we’ll work with them to develop a product that fits the bill, without over-designing and adding extra cost.”
