May 11, 2009

CORONADO, Calif., May 11 /PRNewswire/ — California American Water, which provides water service to residents of Coronado, Imperial Beach and parts of San Diego, announced today it has relocated its headquarters to Coronado.

“We are pleased to welcome the California headquarters of our water utility to our city,” said Coronado Mayor Casey Tanaka. “For 35 years California American Water has provided our residents with high-quality water service and we are pleased to have their staff join us on the island.”

Approximately 30 California American Water staff members in the fields of engineering, accounting, legal, human resources, communications, regulatory and purchasing relocated their primary offices to B Avenue on Coronado over the weekend of May 9-10. “For California American Water, it is very important to be located in an area where we provide water service. This will be a great win for our company and the City of Coronado. Coronado provides a great climate for business; it’s close to San Diego, the freeways and the airport,” said Rob MacLean, President of California American Water. “When our lease was up, we seized the opportunity to move our offices into an area where we provide water service, with no additional costs to the company.”

California American Water has approximately 300 employees throughout California and revenues of approximately $128 million, making it one of the largest companies headquartered in Coronado.
