Lumetique candles recalled

May 13, 2009

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Lumetique Botanika candles due to a fire hazard.

The glass holding the candles can break during use, presenting a fire hazard, the commission said.

About 7,000 of the DayNa Decker Botanika candles encased in 16-ounce glass containers were sold nationwide by Lumetique Inc. of Los Angeles, Calif., between March 2008 and April 2009 for about $76.

Consumers were advised to stop using the recalled candles and contact Lumetique for full credit toward purchase of other DayNa Decker products.

Consumers can call 888-872-0228 for information.
