Jacobs Group Receives Prestigious Eisenhower Award for Excellence From U.S. Small Business Administration

PASADENA, Calif., May 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that its Engineering, Science, and Technical Services (ESTS) Group at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) received from the Small Business Administration (SBA) the prestigious 2009 Dwight D. Eisenhower Award for Excellence in the Service category. Randy Lycans, Jacobs Technology Vice President and ESTS Group General Manager, will accept the award in Washington, D.C. during celebration of National Small Business Week the week of May 17.

The Eisenhower Award, named after Dwight D. Eisenhower who was president the year the SBA was founded, is given to large Federal prime contractors that exemplify using small businesses in the areas of research and development, manufacturing, service, construction, and utility. Nominees for the Eisenhower Award are selected from a large pool of contractors nationwide.

In making the announcement, Jacobs President and Chief Executive Officer Craig Martin stated, "We are extremely honored to have received the Eisenhower Award. With our capable staff, Jacobs will continue to tap the resources of our local and small businesses to provide innovative solutions for our clients."

As a recipient of the award, Jacobs demonstrated a strong commitment to small businesses through contract utilization and effectiveness, mentoring and outreach events, internal corporate policies and management support, and charitable giving.

Jacobs, NASA's largest supplier of engineering support services at eight NASA sites nationwide, has held the ESTS contract at Marshall Space Flight Center since 1989.
