Solar Energy Systems, LLC (SES) Announces Opening of Newark, NJ Office

Posted on: Tuesday, 19 May 2009, 09:24 CDT

Solar power industry continues to experience record growth despite sluggish economy

NEWARK, N.J., May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Solar Energy Systems, LLC (SES) has signed a lease acquiring new space in Newark's central business district. In addition to two locations in New York, the commercial solar power integrator has established an office in downtown Newark's Academy Building.

Mayor Cory A. Booker states, "We are thrilled that Solar Energy Systems, LLC is opening an office in Newark because this supports our sustainability initiative to increase renewable energy and green business opportunities that will in turn create jobs for our residents. Newark is quickly becoming a model of urban transformation as it continues to step up its efforts to become the greenest city in the garden state."

"SES has been active in the New Jersey solar market for over five years. The opening of our Newark office brings us closer to one of the strongest solar programs in the U.S.," says SES President David Buckner. "Logistically, we chose Newark for its geographic location and because it possesses the existing infrastructure necessary to operate a successful business. In support of Mayor Booker's commitment to growing the city's clean tech sector, SES is proud to be calling Newark home."

Last September, Mayor Booker announced what he called an "audacious green agenda" for Newark, promising support for existing sustainability initiatives and calling for the creation of "green-collar" jobs that would make Newark a national model for cities looking to promote economic growth and prosperity through the expansion of environmental efforts.

Machi Tantillo, SES Project Manager, will be based in the Newark office and shares her perspective, saying, "It's great to see the way that the solar industry is growing. We are honored and excited to be part of the push for renewable energy that's coming out of Newark. SES is grateful for all of the support we have received from the City. We are looking forward to building new relationships and becoming a community partner."
