Heifer Foundation Announces Management Change

May 21, 2009

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., May 21 /PRNewswire/ — Heifer Foundation today announced that Chief Financial Officer Ardyth Neill has been appointed acting President and Chief Executive Officer, replacing Janet K. Ginn.

Mrs. Ginn and the Heifer Foundation Board of Trustees mutually agreed Mrs. Ginn should step down amid allegations of copyright infringement and plagiarism. This decision follows a thorough investigation conducted by the Board and outside legal counsel.

“As a leading global philanthropic organization, Heifer Foundation must conduct itself with the utmost integrity,” said Heifer Foundation Board Chairman Ronald H. McLean. “Whether true or not, we cannot allow allegations of improper conduct to distract from the life-changing work of the Heifer organization, our people and our generous donors.

“Mrs. Neill has 13 years of experience with our organization, and we are confident Heifer Foundation will continue to thrive under her leadership,” Mr. McLean continued. “Working closely with our loyal donors, we look forward to continuing our ongoing support for the work of Heifer International.”

Jo Luck, President and Chief Executive Officer of Heifer International, said, “Since its creation in 1990, Heifer Foundation has been a strong partner in the global movement to end hunger and poverty and care for the earth. Heifer International will continue to work closely with the Foundation in serving this mission.”

The Board will commence a search for Mrs. Ginn’s permanent replacement.
