CoreNet Global, AIA and IIDA Announce Winners of 6th Annual Sustainability Leadership Award for Design & Development

ATLANTA, June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- For almost a decade the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) has been leading the green revolution thanks to a multi-billion dollar Sustainable Building Program, which will deliver approximately 90 new green buildings through its nine community college locations. The LACCD is among the winners of the 6th annual Sustainability Leadership Award for Design and Development announced by CoreNet Global.

This year's group of international nominees along with their service providers give a 360-degree view of the projects at hand, beginning with their own internal practices. Once again, these projects transcend standard LEED(TM) certification, looking even deeper into the theme of environmental and social sustainability.

"From under flooring and green HVAC to cutting edge buildings and revamped internal initiatives, this year's nominees have managed to keep the sustainable building and design world hungry for more in light of such economic peril," commented CoreNet Global Chairman Mark Tamburro.

Joining Tamburro, Vice President of Workplace Resources at Nokia, in the awards presentation was CoreNet Global CEO Dr. Prentice Knight.
