This government act serves as an incentive for homeowners to install energy-efficient residential water heaters by offering a tax credit of up to a maximum of 1500 dollars, or 30 percent of total cost of the product and basic installation. The new credit is available from February 17th, 2009 to December 31st, 2010.

"We strongly believe in the benefits of our Eternal product not only for homeowners, but the environment as well. Incentives like the newly available tax credit are an essential part in increasing consumer awareness and usage of energy saving products like Eternal," commented Paul Home, Grand Hall's director of product development and marketing. "In the long term the Eternal system will save homeowners money in energy costs, particularly with the addition of this new tax credit."

Both the Eternal GU20 and Eternal GU26 models meet the required standards to be considered as the "Qualified Energy Property" as the products offer an energy efficiency factor of 0.82 or greater. In order to receive the tax credit - homeowners need to upgrade their home with an approved Eternal model between February 17th, 2009 to December 31st, 2010. After installation of the Eternal water heater, homeowners can use IRS form 5695 to claim 2009 or 2010 taxes.

In addition, homeowners should save their receipt of purchase for tax purposes, and may claim all qualifying energy efficient home improvements over the lifetime of the credit 2009-2010.
