AK Steel Named Certified Supplier by AREVA, SA

WEST CHESTER, Ohio, June 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — AK Steel (NYSE: AKS) said today that it has been selected as a “Certified Supplier” of high quality, grain-oriented electrical steels by the AREVA Transformer and Distribution (T&D) Division of AREVA. The award is being presented in a ceremony today in Washington, D.C.

AREVA’s Certified Supplier designation is awarded to a select number of AREVA’s suppliers that meet or exceed twenty-five key criteria including product quality, innovation and competitiveness.

AK Steel supplies grain-oriented electrical steels to AREVA T&D for the manufacture of energy-efficient power transformers at plants in Europe, South America, Asia and other locations around the world.
