Play set gliders recalled
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of about 1,800 outdoor play set gliders due to a fall hazard.
The gliders were sold as accessories to play set apparatus under brand names Heartland Premium Play Systems, Yardline Play Systems and Backyard Play Systems, the commission said Thursday.
The retaining rings connecting the green plastic glider to the play set can detach, presenting a risk to children, the commission said in a statement.
About 1,800 of the gliders were imported from China by Backyard Play Systems LLC of Monroe, Mich., and sold by Backyard Buildings and More, Lowe’s, Costco.com, BettyMills.com and BackyardBuildings.com from February 2008 through May 2009 for about $100.
The CPSC said consumers are advised to stop using the gliders and contact Backyard Play Systems for a free repair kit.
