Hanwha L&C USA Introduces Product Recycling Initiative

June 8, 2009

Distinctive new HanStone(TM), Hanex(R) and Miraton products debuted at recent industry trade show benefit area residents

ATLANTA, June 8 /PRNewswire/ — Hanwha L&C USA, the surface manufacturing leader announces its product recycling initiative, a donation program developed to repurpose showcased products for use by area charities. The inaugural product donation of its HanStone(TM), Hanex(R) and new Miraton products that debuted at the recent Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBI/S) in Atlanta, are being donated to the local Habitat for Humanity Restore, benefiting area working families.

The products donated to the Atlanta Habitat for Humanity ReStore are resold to the public and the proceeds benefit the mission of Atlanta Habitat for Humanity. Donated items, valued at over $8,000, include 2,400 square feet of Miraton tile flooring, a non-porous, non-staining, minimal maintenance required premium quartz surfacing material; a 100% Acrylic Solid Surface Hanex vanity, ideal for kitchen and baths because of its resistance to heat, moisture pollutants, bacteria and other harmful agents; and HanStone Ruscello fine quartz slabs, a luxurious, versatile material that can withstand everyday usage in kitchens, bathrooms, and entertainment areas.

“We are proud to be developing a program that benefits the lives of local families and may assist many more, especially during these difficult economic times,” states Dr. Daniel Yu, President, Hanwha L&C North America.

The donation and sales of these products to ReStore customers will support the building of affordable Atlanta Habitat homes for working families while recycling valuable product; a true win-win!” noted Larrie Del Martin, Atlanta Habitat for Humanity president and executive director.

Recently relocating its U.S. headquarters to Atlanta, Georgia and a few months away from opening its new manufacturing facility, Hanwha L&C’s North American expansion represents increased consumer demand and dedication to providing its customers exceptional surfacing products in an efficient manner. As expansion efforts continue, Hanwha believes that giving back to communities is a corporate responsibility.
