Pizzas 4 Patriots Holds Send-Off Event at Soldier Field

CHICAGO, June 12 /PRNewswire/ —

WHAT: Pizzas 4 Patriots, a non-profit organization, has teamed up with DHL Worldwide and Chicago’s own UNO to dish out 28,000 deep-dish pizzas to U.S. troops stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan in time for the July 4 Independence Day celebration in what will be documented as the World’s Largest Pizza Party (Guinness Book of World Records).

Ret. Master Sergeant Mark Evans, a native of Elk Grove, IL, will be holding a press conference at the Veterans Wall at Soldier Field prior to departing for John F. Kennedy Airport in NYC to load the shipment onto a cargo jet headed for the Middle East. The first truck, coming from Chicago, will be filled with 10,000 cases of beer donated by Miller/Coors and a variety of other goodies for the troops.

INTERVIEW/PHOTO OPS:

Mark Evans will be joined by Mike and Nancy McCaskey, owners of the Chicago Bears, whose son is currently serving in Iraq, for interviews and photos following the press conference. A USO singing group will provide an additional visual backdrop. Media will have an opportunity to photograph/shoot the truck as it departs escorted by the Rolling Thunder Chicago Motorcycle Brigade.
