Hawaiian Airlines Reduces Costs, Improves Performance with Pratt & Whitney EcoPower(R) Engine Wash Agreement

PARIS, June 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — PARIS AIR SHOW — Hawaiian Airlines signed an exclusive five-year renewal agreement to continue using Pratt & Whitney’s EcoPower engine wash service on its fleet of PW4060, CF6-80A2 and Trent700 engines. Pratt & Whitney’s patented EcoPower engine wash system reduces fuel burn by as much as 1.2 percent, eliminating three pounds of carbon dioxide emissions for every pound of fuel saved, while decreasing engine gas temperature and increasing the amount of time an engine can stay on wing. The EcoPower system, offered through the Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners network, uses a closed-loop system with pure, atomized water to wash aircraft engines, avoiding potential contaminant runoff. The system is more effective and much faster than traditional engine washing processes.
