MGM Mirage resort slated for Egypt
MGM Mirage said Tuesday it had reached an agreement with New Giza for Real Estate Development Co. on managing a future hotel near Cairo, Egypt.
The developer will fund construction of a 550-room hotel bearing the MGM name that will be part of a new, 1,500-acre planned community.
The project includes shopping malls, a golf course, homes and sports facilities, the Las Vegas Review Journal reported Tuesday.
The hotel is scheduled to open 2013. The partnership is similar to deals MGM Mirage Hospitality has struck for non-casino resorts in China, Dubai and Vietnam, the newspaper said.
