Macy’s hooded sweatshirts recalled
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Macy's Epic Threads and Greendog hooded sweatshirts due to a strangulation hazard.
The drawstring or ties meant to snug up the hood could pose a strangulation risk, the commission said.
Macy's Merchandising Group Inc. of New York is recalling about 33,000 of the sweatshirts, which were imported from India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Taiwan.
The garments were sold at Macy's stores from July 2008 through March 2009 for between $32 and $50.
The models involved in the recall include Epic Threads and Greendog Hooded Sweatshirts.
Consumers should immediately remove the ties from the garments or return them to Macy's for a full refund.
