GLOBAL Mission Systems Achieves CMMI Maturity Level 3 Rating

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- GLOBAL Mission Systems, a division of Global Strategies Group (North America) Inc., recently achieved a Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level 3 rating in a Class A appraisal. The Maturity Level 3 designation further establishes GLOBAL Mission Systems as a leading integrator of C4ISR systems and technology for the national security community and enables the company to compete for new contracts where the rating is required. The rating also demonstrates that GLOBAL Mission Systems has institutionalized standard engineering processes and has adopted a culture of continuous improvement focused on maintaining customer satisfaction.

The CMMI is an internationally recognized standard for improving and assessing product and service development practices. A CMMI appraisal is completed to determine and inform external customers of how well an organization's processes compare to CMMI best practices and identify areas where improvement can be made. The standard was developed by the CMMI project, comprised of members of industry, government and the Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute (SEI), for sponsors including the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) and the National Defense Industrial Association.

A Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI) team, licensed by the SEI, independently appraised GLOBAL Mission Systems at Maturity Level 3 demonstrating that the company has mature project management, engineering, and support processes in place providing a framework for consistent and efficient delivery of high-quality systems that meet the customers' needs.
