Ecopetrol S.A. Files its 2008 Annual Report on Form 20-F/A

BOGOTA, Colombia, July 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Ecopetrol, S.A.
(BVC: ECOPETROL; NYSE: EC), announced that it filed its 2008 Annual Report on
Form 20-F/A on June 30, 2009, which replaced in its entirety the Annual Report
on Form 20-F which was previously filed this week.

Ecopetrol is Colombia’s largest integrated oil company and is among the
top 40 oil companies in the world and the four largest oil companies in Latin
