Dr. Miriam (Miki) Haran, Former Director General of Israel's Ministry of Environment, to Become an External Director of ICL'S Board of Directors

TEL-AVIV, Israel, July 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Board of Directors of Israel Chemicals Ltd. ("ICL" or the "ICL Group") (TASE:CHIM) today announced that Dr. Miriam (Miki) Haran, Former Director General of Israel's Ministry of the Environment, will become one of the Company's External Directors. In parallel, the Board extended the term of Professor Yair Orgler, Former Chairman of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE), who has served as one of ICL's External Directors since 2006. Dr. Haran will replace Mr. Yaacov Dior, who has served as an External Director for the past six years, the maximum term that can be served by an External Director.

Dr. Haran is a world expert in the field of environmental protection. She is the former Director General of Israel's Ministry of the Environment, serves as the Head of Ono Academic College's MBA/ Environmental Management Program, and is Chief Scientist of Tamarix Ventures, a venture capital fund focused on Israel-related cleantech companies. She holds a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Brandeis University and a B.Sc. in chemistry from Israel's Hebrew University.

The nomination of Dr. Haran as an External Director is one of the concrete activities ICL is undertaking in line with its commitment to environmental protection.
