NXGen Holdings, Inc.'s Wholly Owned Subsidiary Green Bridge Industries Applies for DfE Approval for Zap(TM) Stain Remover Product

Posted on: Tuesday, 21 July 2009, 07:15 CDT

SARANAC, Mich., July 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NXGen Holdings, Inc. (OTC Pink Sheets: NXGH) is pleased to announce that the Company has submitted an application for its Zap(TM) Stain Remover pen, carpet spotter, and prewash products for DfE (Design for the Environment) approval. The DfE is a program within the United States Environmental Protection Agency that works in partnership with a broad range of stakeholders to reduce risk to people and the environment by preventing pollution. All of the ingredients used in Green Bridge Industries' products are already DfE compliant. Green Bridge Industries expects the approval process to take approximately 8-10 weeks. The Company will be submitting applications for the rest of its product line by year's end.

The Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxic's (OPPT) DfE Program at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency uses the office's chemical assessment tools and expertise to inform substitution for safer chemistries. The EPA recognized the need to develop cleaner, safer technologies program to work with industry to design products, processes, and technologies that are competitive but environmentally safer. Several non-regulatory, voluntary initiatives on safer chemical synthesis, comparative risk analysis, and alternative technology development merged to create the EPA's Design for the Environment (DfE) Program.

"It is very important for our product line to become DfE approved due to the competitive advantage it will give Green Bridge Industries as we look to introduce our products in the retail, military, and medical sectors," stated William White, CEO of NXGen Holdings, Inc. "And because we made the decision to use only items listed on www.cleangredients.org the approved list for DfE surfactants, and avoid the unreliability of ferment based solutions, approval should be a fairly straightforward process."
