Miller-McCune Magazine Wins Environmental Journalism Prize
SANTA BARBARA, Calif., July 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The Society of Environmental Journalists has named Valerie Brown’s article for Miller-McCune magazine, “Environment Becomes Heredity,” the winner of its 2008-2009 award for outstanding explanatory reporting in a print publication. Other winners in the contest include stories published and aired by the Los Angeles Times, National Public Radio, The Center for Public Integrity and USA Today.
Brown’s winning story plumbs the intricacies of the emerging field of epigenetics to discuss growing evidence that even small chemical exposures at key stages of animal development can trigger multi-generational health problems.
