MultiVu Video Feed: ACTRESS MINNIE DRIVER KICKS OFF NATIONAL CAMPAIGN AIMED TO SAVE MARINE WILDLIFE

July 28, 2009

Every year thousands of marine wildlife are injured, and even killed by
the 76 million gallons of oil pollution that enter North American waters. A
drop of oil the size of a dime on a bird’s body or wings can damage their
insulated layer of down feathers, causing the bird to freeze to death.

This summer, actress Minnie Driver and Procter & Gamble’s Dawn brand, who
has more than 30 years of experience working with rescue and rehabilitation
centers like the Marine Mammal Center and International Bird Rescue Research
Center, will launch Everyday Wildlife Champions(TM) to provide people across
the country a chance to get involved. Everyday Wildlife Champions(TM) is a
national effort to encourage everyday action-big or small-to help preserve
wildlife and unite individuals who share passion for the cause.

Consumers can kick start their wildlife contributions through the
purchase of one Dawn bottle. By visiting www.dawnsaveswildlife.com, a $1
donation will benefit The International Bird Rescue Research Center (IBRRC)
and The Marine Mammal Center (MMC).

This new campaign also offers people an opportunity to connect and
communicate on an Everyday Wildlife Champions Facebook page and take part in
Dawn's heritage - saving oiled birds/marine life from both natural and
man-made disasters.
