Sweatshirts recalled for strangulation risk

July 31, 2009

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Burlington Coat Factory sweatshirts due to a strangulation hazard.

About 13,300 boys hooded sweatshirts and warm up sets were imported from China by Burlington Coat Factory of Burlington, N.J., and sold nationwide from September 2008 through June 2009 for between $13 and $20 each.

The drawstrings through the hoods pose a safety risk, the commission said.

The recall involves sweatshirt Style No. 3650-B and suede warm up sets Style No. B9560ST.

Consumers were advised to stop remove the drawstrings or return the garments to the retailer for a refund or store credit.

Consumers can call 888-223-2628 for information.
