August 10, 2009

RESTON, Va., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ — High Performance Technologies, Inc. (HPTi), a Reston-based technology services firm, has been awarded one of the Department of Defense’s (DoD) premier applied research contracts — the User Productivity Enhancement, Technology Transfer and Training (PETTT) contract for the DoD’s High Performance Computing Modernization Office (HPCMO). Potentially worth $147 million over ten years, this win demonstrates HPTi’s growing reputation within the DoD science and engineering community.

HPTi will collaborate with government labs and coordinate the top research universities and private companies of the PETTT team to produce meaningful and timely science and engineering solutions for America’s warfighters. The team is made up of some of the premier HPC labs and companies in the country, including Texas Advanced Computing Center, Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center, and 19 other university and industry partners. The contract’s objectives include collaboration, HPC tool development, enhanced productivity, and exploration of research areas the DoD believes will achieve technological advantages for our soldiers.

“The PETTT program is the keystone of DoD’s scientific innovation initiatives, delivering premier capabilities to our service men and women,” commented HPTi President Tim Keenan. “Supporting the HPCMO with this critical mission makes HPTi one of the nation’s foremost providers of computational services.”
