Packers Plus(R) StackFRAC(R) HD a success in the Devonian Shale

August 12, 2009

CALGARY, Aug. 12 /PRNewswire/ – Packers Plus has successfully run an
18-stage StackFRAC(R) HD “High Density” Multi-Stage Fracturing System in the
Devonian Shale in the Appalachian Basin.

“The StackFRAC(R) HD system is an excellent application to recover gas in
the Devonian Shale,” said President Dan Themig. “Our system creates numerous
fractures that increase production results for operators, making multi-stage
fracturing the method of choice in this region. Now with our HD system, we can
provide even more value while accessing large gas reserves.”

The benefits of the new StackFRAC(R) HD system are that it allows for
increased production through longer laterals and shorter stage lengths, thus
significantly increasing the number of stages per system. Costs per stage can
be reduced by smaller frac strings and liner sizes, which results in a
tremendous impact on operators who are looking to maximize production numbers
and financial results.

“We’ve proven that our multi-patented completion methods can maximize
recovery values in unconventional reservoirs such as the Devonian Shale,” said
US General Manager James Athans. “Our customers have told us that more
stimulation stages mean greater access to reserves, which will further improve
production results.”

StackFRAC(R) HD continues to make significant inroads in the industry, in
numerous formations in the US, where 10,500 stages have been installed.
