American DG Energy to Provide Low Cost Clean Energy to Rhode Island Nursing Facility

Posted on: Monday, 17 August 2009, 08:00 CDT

WALTHAM, Mass., Aug. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American DG Energy Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: ADGE), a leading On-Site Utility, offering clean electricity, heat, hot water and cooling solutions to healthcare, hospitality, housing and athletic facilities, today announced an agreement to supply energy to Saint Elizabeth Home, a nursing and rehabilitative care facility, located in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. Under the terms of the agreement, Saint Elizabeth will soon receive a sizable portion of its energy from a 75 kW combined heat and power (CHP) system, which will be owned and operated by American DG Energy. Saint Elizabeth will receive a discount on the energy produced by the CHP system and reduce its emissions by up to 330 tons of carbon dioxide per year. The value of the deal is $1.4 million, which reflects the recent drop in energy prices.

"We are pleased by our continued success in the healthcare industry," said Barry Sanders, President and COO of American DG Energy. "We are confident that this success will continue as more healthcare facilities learn of our value proposition and look for ways to reduce costs and go green."

American DG Energy will produce clean energy in the form of electricity and space heat at Saint Elizabeth Home and sell it to Saint Elizabeth at a price lower than the local energy utility. Saint Elizabeth will pay only for the energy they use and will avoid all capital, installation and operating costs. The energy will be produced with small-scale, CHP equipment located at the property site but owned and operated by American DG Energy. The Company will also handle all service, maintenance and repair.
