Black & Decker coffeemakers recalled

August 18, 2009

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Black & Decker coffeemakers because they can overheat and melt.

About 9,800 Black & Decker Thermal Coffeemakers were imported from China by Applica Consumer Products Inc. of Miramar, Fla., and sold nationwide from April 2008 through last month for about $60 each.

The recall involves 8-cup programmable coffeemakers, model No. TCM1000IKT.

Consumers were advised to stop using the appliances and contact Applica for a free replacement product.

Consumers can call 866-699-4595 for information.
