IEA Predicts Rise in Demand for Oil

Global demand for oil will increase next year despite the latest surge in oil prices above the $60-a-barrel mark, the International Energy Agency said yesterday. It expects consumption to increase to 85.6 million barrels in 2006, a 2.1 per cent rise on 2005′s expected rise.
