Pensi ceiling fans recalled
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says hundreds of Pensi fans are being recalled voluntarily because several have fallen from ceilings.
The watchdog agency says The Modern Fan Co. of Ashland, Ore., has received four reports of the ceiling fans coming loose and falling, the commission said.
About 1,300 of the fans were imported from China and sold nationwide between August 2008 and last month for between $400 and $530 apiece.
The recall involves fans with an aluminum/anthracite or a gloss white finish. The model numbers of the recalled fans include
PEN-AA- or PEN-GW-.”
Consumers were advised to discontinue use of the fan and contact The Modern Fan Co. for a replacement part and repair instructions.
