Quicksilver girls’ hoodies recalled

August 27, 2009

A U.S. watchdog agency announced a voluntary recall of Quicksilver girls’ hoodies because their waist drawstrings pose a danger of strangling.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said about 500 Roxy Girl Very Nice Cotton Hoodies were imported from China by Quicksilver Inc. of Huntington Beach, Calif. They were sold nationwide since April for about $40 each.

While no injuries had been reported, consumers were advised to remove the drawstring from the hoodies or return the garments to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Consumers can call 877-246-7257 for information.
