California American Water and the City of San Marino to Host California Friendly Landscape Seminars

SAN MARINO, Calif., Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ — California American Water and the city of San Marino in partnership with the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California will offer a series of free California Friendly(R) Landscape seminars designed for residential customers.

California American Water and the city of San Marino encourage residents and customers to attend the classes to learn about water tolerant landscaping, California Friendly(R) plants and ways to conserve water.

“The California Friendly(R) Landscape seminars will focus on landscape design, plant selection, irrigation systems and maintenance techniques for developing and maintaining aesthetically pleasing and water-efficient landscapes,” said California American Water’s Operations Manager Garry Hofer. “These classes have proven to be an important and successful tool for reducing outdoor water use by educating both professional landscapers and home gardeners.”

All classes are offered on Saturdays and will be held at the Crowell Public Library in the Barth Room. Crowell Public Library is located at 1890 Huntington Drive, San Marino, CA. Classes will be offered on the following dates and times:

                        California Friendly Plants

                                October 3
                             1:00pm - 5:00pm
              California Gardening for the Water Wise Gardener

                               October 10
                             8:30am - 12:00pm
                       Efficient Irrigation Systems

                               October 24
                            8:30am - 12:00pm
                     Soil, Fertilizer, and Watering

Registration closes one week prior to scheduled class date. A minimum of 20 registered people are required for each class. Classes that do not meet the minimum number of registered participants will be canceled.
