BAKERSFIELD, Calif., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Rio Bravo Ranch, one of the oldest and respectable California growers of citrus, almonds and walnuts, today announced the completion of two solar photovoltaic systems: a 100 kilowatt (kW) ground-mounted solar system and a 25 kW solar carport. Both solar systems were designed, engineered and installed by Cenergy Power, a commercial solar power integrator with market-leading solar solutions. The ground-mounted system will power a sizeable irrigation pump on the ranch. The solar carport will provide both power to Rio Bravo's corporate office and shading for employee cars.
The solar projects are direct evidence of Rio Bravo's commitment to environmentally sensitive agricultural and developmental practices. "Our goal for the solar projects are twofold- to continue on with our tradition of conservation and good land stewardship while receiving a competitive return on our invested capital," said Jamie Nickel, one of the principals of Rio Bravo Ranch. "With Cenergy Power's expertise and turnkey options, we were able to advance this goal. As a result, we are planning to significantly expand our solar initiatives to other ranch activities with Cenergy Power's assistance."
