Grizzly Industrial bandsaws recalled
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Grizzly Industrial bandsaws due to a shock hazard.
About 500 bandsaws imported from Taiwan by Grizzly Industrial of Bellingham, Wash., were sold nationwide from February 2008 through July 2009 for about $1,600 each.
Some of the bandsaws lack a grounding wire, creating the potential for an electric shock hazard, the commission said.
The recall involves the G0640X 17-inch metal/wood bandsaws with inverter motors. The number G0640X is printed on the front of the bandsaws.
Consumers were advised to stop using the bandsaws until a repair kit, furnished by the company, is installed.
