“We are very pleased to partner with Best Buy,” stated Jim Ouellette, Vice President of Earthmate. “The entire Best Buy organization has demonstrated a passion for environmental issues and is committed to offering their customers the best ‘green’ products available. Earthmate, with its clear environmental messaging, low mercury levels, and 100% sustainable packaging, is an excellent fit.”

When reviewing alternative CFL brands to include in its stores, Best Buy was attracted to Earthmate’s strong environmental stance, demonstrated by its clear brand messaging and unique packaging. Earthmate packaging is made from 100% post-consumer content, printed with soy-based ink, contains no plastic, and is completely recyclable.

“Our mission recognizes the need to provide socially and environmentally conscious merchandise to the Best Buy customer,” says Jon Lanning, Best Buy Chicago area manager. “CFL light bulbs are an important ingredient in helping home owners manage their energy consumption, and Earthmate CFLs offered the product range, performance, and image we were looking for.”

In addition, for a limited time Earthmate CFLs sold at Chicagoland Best Buy stores carry discounted promotional pricing courtesy of ComEd’s Smart Ideas for Your Home(SM) energy efficiency program. “ComEd’s Smart Ideas is all about helping our customers become more energy-efficient,” says Val R.
