Business Community Supports the Frontier Project Foundation

Posted on: Tuesday, 15 September 2009, 12:36 CDT

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The Frontier Project Foundation is teaming with more sponsors for its upcoming Green Tie Gala, which will show-off its one-of-a-kind environmental education demonstration building on October 17, 2009. New supporters include the Turner Construction Company, as the Entertainment Sponsor; Inland Empire Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is hosting the VIP Reception; and Farnsworth Group, Arrowhead Mountain Spring Water and Weston Solutions, Inc. have each joined as Enthusiast Sponsors.

"The IE Chapter of the USGBC is excited about our partnership and believes that the Frontier Project will be an exceptional community resource for green building practices," said Rick Fochtman, USGBC-IE spokesperson. "We plan on using the facility regularly for outreach and education. It's an amazing example of beauty, function and sustainability."

San Bernardino County Supervisor Paul Biane, Second District, is supporting the Gala at the Visionary level with a $25,000 donation. Best, Best and Krieger LLP, Robert Brkich Construction Corp., Stone & Youngberg LLC, and CV Strategies, together with Robert A. Bernheimer, Inc., each have donated at the $2,500 level as Enthusiast Sponsors. Additional sponsorship opportunities are still available.

Over the last few years, industry leaders have worked with Frontier Project parent company Cucamonga Valley Water District and designer HMC Architects to carefully plan a building that will be a resource for the community and achieve LEED(R) (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certification, the highest level afforded from the USGBC. The Frontier Project will be a working building, serving as a regional gathering place aimed at educating business leaders, students and residential consumers in the latest technologies in water, energy, and site conservation.

The Frontier Project will open to the public at a Grand Opening Celebration on November 7, 2009. Turner Construction Company is building the state-of-the-art facility to include recycled materials, a live "green" roof, cisterns to collect rain water, a cool tower and solar chimneys for natural ventilation, and more.

Joel Greene, host of the PBS series "Curiosity Quest," will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the Gala. The Foundation will honor the Lewis Group of Companies and Herman Miller, Inc., for their contributions to environmental sustainability. The program will also include dinner, entertainment, and a silent auction. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.frontierproject.org or call 909.483.7484.
