PA National Guard to Hold Public Meeting, Discuss Proposed Williamsport Armed Forces Reserve Center

HARRISBURG, Pa., Sept. 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania National Guard will discuss plans to build an Armed Forces Reserve Center in Williamsport during a public meeting and comment session from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the Williamsport City Hall, 245 W. 4th St., Williamsport.

Beginning at 6:30 p.m., attendees will be briefed on the proposed project, as well as a draft of the environmental assessment that was conducted as part of the planning.

A question and answer session and public comment period will follow the briefing.

Comments received at the public meeting will be considered by the Pennsylvania National Guard as a part of the National Environmental Policy Act process. Written comments and questions may also be submitted until Oct. 25 via mail to Mr. Todd Eakin, PA DMVA Project Manager, Bureau of Environmental Management, Bldg. 0-11, Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, PA 17003, or via email at teakin@state.pa.us.

Comments and questions will be reviewed and answered in the final environmental assessment document.

A copy of the draft environmental assessment is available for review until Oct. 25 at James V. Brown Public Library, 19 E. 4th St., and Grove Street Armory, 1307 Grove St., both in Williamsport.

The assessment is also available online at www.dmva.state.pa.us.
