Crude oil price holds steady overnight
Crude oil prices held steady overnight on the New York Mercantile Exchange after jumping above $70 per barrel in the previous trading session.
The price of light, sweet crude jumped close to $3.50 per barrel Wednesday, but kept within a long-term pattern, The price of oil has bounced between $66 and $74 per barrel for the past month.
Energy prices were stable overnight, the price of crude oil losing 2 cents to $70.59 per barrel. Heating oil prices lost 0.0052 cents to $1.8272 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline prices rose 0.0094 cents to $1.761 per gallon. Natural gas prices dropped 0.194 cents to $4.647 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline was $2.469 Thursday, down from Wednesday’s $2.479, AAA said.
